What’s better than a ripe juicy pineapple???
ONE HUNDRED RIPE AND JUICY PINEAPPLES!!!
Aren’t they gorgeous?
This photo is from my Costa Rica travels (2012). We toured the DOLE plantation and they gave us bottomless pineapple so long as the tour was in session.
Look how beautiful they are…. Getting squeaky clean so that the American’s will want to buy them.
Did you know that Pineapple’s grow in fields?
From far away they look like grass.
It’s like pineapple hide and seek!
How many do you see?
Once they have fully matured, they cut them off and ship them off! Pineapple don’t continue to ripen after they’ve been plucked. So that means every pineapple is at its best the moment it’s been chosen!
The best way to find a good pineapple at the store is to look for a healthy green/gold bottom rim. Avoid anything that looks too brown and mushy.
Some people say to smell the pineapple, some people weigh the pineapple, some say look for symmetry, some say to look for big eyes, others say to test the stem for easy-removal. I say stop stalling and buy the damn pineapple!!
Then dig in.
You can make a pineapple smoothie:
- 1 cup frozen pineapple
- 1/2 of a frozen banana
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 handful of coffee beans (whole for added crunch)
Blend until combined. Enjoy thoroughly.
You can make your own dole pineapple whip:
(This one’s from a Hula Girl Shave Ice in Huntington Beach)
You can make my own super simple healthy pineapple upside down cake:
- 1 Angel food cake mix (found in the baking aisle)
- 1 Pineapple sliced (or use 1 can of pineapple rings)
- 1/4 cup Coconut oil
- 1/4 cup Coconut shavings
Layer the pineapple, coconut oil, and coconut shavings at the bottom of the pan. Pour angel food cake mix over. Put in oven according to directions on bag. Once ready remove from oven, flip, enjoy.
You can make a pina colada.
Obviously you need to garnish the side with a pineapple wedge. Sunglasses optional.
Or you could take it with you on a picnic!
*beep beep*!
Don’t forget your shades.
If you can’t beat’em, join’em.
Sip away my friends, sip away.
All of these photos were taken by me. Every single one. You’re welcome.
